Rudy Goes Home
Wednesday, 15 June 2011 07:33

Rudy found his forever home with a family friend in Santa Fe New Mexico. He will have this beautiful adobe home to run around in and travel with his new owner George everywhere. Rudy traveled to Santa Fe with his foster mom and his best buddy, Ruger, the foster mom's Staffordshire Bull Terrier. Ruger jumped to his defense when a scary lizard ran away from an inquisitive Rudy in the backyard. Rudy has found a new passion in life...lizard hunting. He will have a nice rear yard and front patio to hunt in now! Rudy bonded with George quickly and loves to sleep under the covers in bed with him. We will miss our little boy and wish him years of happiness in his new home!

Faith Goes Home
Sunday, 06 March 2011 15:09
Faith's rescue almost didn't happen. She was taller than I expected and so very very dirty. I was going to leave her but my husband said we needed to "take this one home." Faith was a badly abused dog. She was afraid to be touched and to eat food or drink water in front of anyone. It took the love and patience of two of Foster Friends staff to bring her around. This little dog turned out to be one of the sweetest and funniest dogs we know! She "collects" items you leave on the ground and puts them in her bed. This could be your shoes, socks, tv remote, glasses or cell phone!
Faith went to her forever home on February 26th. She will live near the beach and have lots of opportunities to go for car rides and walks. She will be loved and lavished with the attention she so deserves. We are so happy that Faith can now begin her new journey with her new owner. Thank you Mary Pat!

Oscar Adopted, Against the Odds
Tuesday, 22 February 2011 16:36

Oscar was found wandering in an agricultural area of Kern County. When no one claimed him, Foster Friends came to the rescue. Unfortunately, after being in foster for a week we found he had an on going medical issue. Luckily, he has found a wonderful home with a family that has a medical background! Oscar is such a sweet and gentle soul. We are so happy to know that he will be loved and taken care of and that his "pre-existing" condition did not matter after all.

Rusty Goes Home
Sunday, 23 January 2011 13:04

Rusty was found wandering the streets in the valley shortly after New Years. It may be that he was frightened by fireworks when left outside. He was very thin and had "fly strike" on his ears which usually means he was kept outside most of the time. Foster Friends took him in. He was such a find. Rusty is a beautiful deep red boy that has a great personality. He learned how to use the doggie door at his foster home in an hour! This little one was such a delight it's no wonder he found his forever home so fast! We are happy that he will be safe and kept inside in a loving, doxie savvy home.

Monet goes home
Sunday, 23 January 2011 11:32

Monet went home!  Her new mommy was happy to invite her into her home after losing her last dog of 18 years.  Monet and mommy workout together 3 times a week to stay active and they keep each other motivated.  She came a long way.  We found Monet in the Kern County shelter system where she was dirty and matted, and overlooked by every visitor.  Congratulations Monet!

Sienna is happy with her new family
Sunday, 02 January 2011 22:20

Sienna's family is so happy to have a new member in their home, and I think, from these pictures, the feeling is mutual!  Though she was much loved by her foster family and friend Buster the dog, she's going to fit right in at her forever home.  Congratulations, Sienna!

Timmy Goes Home
Thursday, 21 April 2011 11:00

Timmy is so happy in his new home.  Here is a letter from his new mommy:

Timmy is continuing to adjust very well.  I got a couple of little tail wags in the evening, for both me and Lyle at different times.  He did wonderful on our walk, just me and the kids.  He wouldn't even sniff or urinate during the walk, which is unusual for a male.  He was leery about the rest of the house until he checked it out carefully.  After I put them to bed then they started wrestling and showing each other dominance (I don't know who won, probably Kacey).  It warmed my heart knowing that they were having so much fun and got along so well.  Kacey finally got a playmate.  They finally settled down around 11 p.m., sleeping on the same bed together.

This morning Timmy rolled over on the bed for a tummy rub and wagged his tail.  I got a few kisses, also.  They both put their head on either side of my lap while I was sitting on the couch.  He is wagging his tail when I approach him and he lowers his ears to greet me.    He also used the doggie door this morning for the first time (was too afraid of the ramp and the sound of the door last night). Timmy and Kacey are best friends now; this is what Kacey needed and I am so happy for them.  I think Timmy is glad he's here and is settling in very nicely.  A lot of love and affection is just what he needs, and he is learning to love and trust us.  He is perfect for us and we are very happy with him.  He is such a sweet boy and we are enjoying him very much.

Rascal, From Stray to Home!!!
Tuesday, 22 February 2011 16:39

Rascal was found running in a neighborhood at only 8 weeks of age. This gorgeous little guy was brought to the shelter where he stayed for a month! We were able to rescue him, and in less than 24 hours, Rascal had been spoken for! This has got to be a record. Rascal will now live with two wonderful kids and their parents. He will also share his home with four other dogs that will show him the ropes! Thank you Kim, Chase and Xavier.

Heidi Found A Home
Tuesday, 22 February 2011 16:33

Heidi was a youngster found wandering in Kern County. Foster Friends was able to pull her from the shelter and put her in a wonderful foster home with other doxies. Not too surprisingly, they fell in love with her perky outlook on life and decided to adopt her themselves. We couldn't have asked for a better home than this!

Daisy Finds a Family
Sunday, 23 January 2011 12:05

Daisy was rescued from the Bakersfield shelter. She had spent a month there when Foster Friends was asked if we would take her. Once she had a few good meals and a bath we realized Daisy was one of the cutest little girls we had ever seen. Daisy was adopted by a wonderful couple who fell completely in love with her at first sight. Lucky little Daisy will spend her life not only with her new Mom and Dad but also a big Sister named Bella.  Daisy and Bella look like they could be twins and ever since Daisy's Foster Mom took her home to them, she and Bella have been inseparable. Here's a letter to Foster Friends from her new family: Hi, Everything is going really well, better than we could have hoped for!!  Daisy is so sweet and she and Bella are becoming best friends and love to play together all day, until they pass out from exhaustion.  We are overjoyed with Daisy and Bella seems happier than ever... ...Again, we can't thank you enough for giving us the chance to meet Daisy, and ultimately adopt her.  thanks again and we will send pictures soon, Michael, Kathie, Bella, and Daisy

Lolli Went Home Quick
Sunday, 02 January 2011 22:20

Lollie is a purebred French Bulldog that was rescued from a Los Angeles shelter. She was abandoned at a veterinary hospital after her owners left her in labor for almost 3 days. The vet was unable to save the large pup that was inside her, and almost was unable to save her. Foster Friends stepped in and took her in. Luckily, we networked with a wonderful Frenchie owner that was able to find her a home in only four days!

Lolli has found her forever home with a very wonderful and successful dog trainer. She will be participating in all kinds of dog activities such as agility, obedience and therapy work. We are so excited for her! She even gets to share her new home with another Frenchie and a wonderful Staffordshire Bull Terrier.

Special thanks to Kristina for helping us find her such a wonderful home and congratulations to her new owners!
